VOTING RIGHTS FOR CONVICTED CRIMINALS -- DEBATE FALLOUT -- FOX NEWS MESSES UP -- BANNING BIBLES

AP runs the Coretta Scott King story on her efforts to allow convicted criminals who have served their time the right to vote. In her praise of Vermont and Maine being the only two states that allow prison inmates to vote, she seems to be in favor of this as well. For someone who has been rehabilitated and served their time to vote is an argument people will listen to, but while still in prison? That's a harder point to make.

King's Widow Turns Focus on Voting Rights

This is an important issue to African Americans with so many of our men in the prison system. According to Scott King, because of this, one in four black men in six states are barred from voting because of their convictions.

This AP story mentioned the little mess up at FOX News where one of their political correspondents let his Kerry barbs pass the door and onto the website. The network and the reporter apologized, but I'm sure the Dems will make sure this issue stays alive in their continued efforts to prove the network is campaign headquarters for the Bush Administration.

Carl Cameron, the reporter in question here, is the guy on the Kerry campaign on the road. Not at all awkward.

Molly Ivin's editorial in The Memphis Flyer gets on the Bush Administration for a lot of things, but most interestingly, the Republican's mass mailings to WV folks saying that the Dems will ban the bible if elected.
