Everything I hear and read about Iraq is bad news. I'm not alone. Almost 70% of America is fed up with this war. The latest bombings seem to be particularly brutal in the sense that they are claiming greater numbers of lives than before. However, I'm beginning to hear and read that the troop surge is making things safer in Iraq. I doubt it, but believe me when I say I want to be wrong about that.
I feel as if this is spin leading up to next month's report. You know that report the Bush Administration said would be sufficient time to decide if we're doing well, but then a month or so ago started saying that it really isn't going to be a good indicator because it took so long to get the troops there. Even if that is true, it's just another sign of their incompetence and poor planning skills by originally thinking September would be soon enough. Either way, both sides are going to spin that report so much, we will think they are two completely separate documents. All I know is I read and see more and more death and destruction.
