BARRY'S SPEECH

3.19.2008

Personally, I loved the speech. And yes, I am a homer and will root for the Chicago boy no matter what, but I still objectively think it was a fantastic speech. I didn't love every part of it. I think he tried to cover too many bases, but overall, well done.

What I feared is what has happened. The Right side is only taking the sound bites that they can twist to make him seem like an angry black man, a man excusing Rev. Wright's behavior and one blaming whitey. People remember what they want to.

Either way, I have a real respect for Barry that goes beyond just liking him now. No, I'm not on the Messiah bandwagon because I just don't do that, but well done.
